Peine Visit
Our European market is very important to us at Wallace Bagpipes along with our sole agent Dave Johnston of The Pipers Corner Shop therefore we attended the Peine Highland Games from Fri 2nd May – Sun 4th.
To be involved in such a well organised event was a pleasure and Craig was asked to perform on the Friday night along with fellow judges Alan Johnson, Mark Falloon(confirmed instructor for the Bruggen Winter School), Gavin Noade(recent 2008 World Solo Drumming Finalist) and Mark Wilson.
Congratulations to P/M David Johnston and Rhine Power who placed 1st in Grade 4

College at Carbisdale
Wallace Bagpipes were the main sponsors of the highly successful week long College at Carbisdale in March organised by The College of Piping.
Below was the College Principal Robert Wallace thoughts on the week.
Our administrator, Paul Turner, did a marvelous job of organising things and we were honoured by the presence of Lord Thurso and other local dignitaries for the closing concert. I should also mention Niall Mathieson who is doing a terrific job teaching the kids in Ross and Cromarty. They have some outstanding young talent up there, Craig Mackenzie (a pupil of Louise Hay) and Duncan MacGillivray’s boys Michael and Andrew to name but three. Niall works tirelessly spreading the piping word in that part of the country. We are very grateful to Wallace Bagpipes for their sponsorship. The school was featured on Scottish Television north region news and I’m told clips can be accessed on their website for another few days – Wallace Bagpipes banner to the fore and rightly so.

Wallace Bagpipes attended the end of ceremony concert at the College of Piping Winter School in Bruggen. The winter school itself ran from 10th – 16th Feb however Craig flew in on the Friday to perform at the end concert after being kindly invited to play a solo by David Johnston of The Pipers Corner Shop. After his succesful performance he was confirmed as an instructor along with the rest of the college team in 09 which Wallace Bagpipes are now the main sponsor of.
Below was the College Principal Robert Wallace view on how the course went.
Back yesterday from a great week at Breuggen at the 2nd CoP Winter School. I think the 70 piping and seven drumming students had a good week too judging by the Student Comment Sheets I received. Dave Johnston and his wife Heike did their usual brilliant job in organising things so everything went without a hitch. The closing concert was a sell out with Robert Watt and Craig Munro of Wallace Bagpipes wowing the crowd with their spectacular fingerwork. We were again honoured by the attendance of Gen Melvin from the Army and he helped present the PDQ certificates. My personal thanks go to the instructors Dave Johnston, Stuart Samson, Jim Clarke, Dean Hall, Joe Wilson, Barry Donaldson, Robert Watt and Willie Park. I want to acknowledge too the contribution of Eva at the Youth Hostel and also to the irrepressible ‘Guinness’- just the sort of sergeant major character every school needs.
